The G7 nations—comprising the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, Germany, Italy, and France—have issued a joint statement pledging to refrain from imposing export bans on energy and energy-related products against one another. The European Union also participated in the meeting. As part of this commitment to energy security, the alliance has announced the release of 100 million barrels of oil and diesel into the market.
