UN warns of increasingly unpredictable global water cycle
The World Meteorological Organization reports that rivers worldwide exhibited abnormal flow patterns even before the onset of El Nino.

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has issued a warning regarding the growing unpredictability of the global water cycle. According to the organization, rivers across the globe were already displaying abnormal flow patterns prior to the impact of El Nino. Notably, 2025 was recorded as one of the three driest years for rivers in the past 35 years.
