Bangladesh completes first kidney transplant from 'emotional donor'

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) has achieved a medical milestone by performing the country's first kidney transplant involving an 'emotional donor.' This procedure allows for organ donation between individuals who share close emotional ties, even in the absence of a biological or blood relationship. According to BSMMU, this breakthrough is expected to significantly broaden the scope and availability of kidney transplantation procedures in Bangladesh.
