Samakal has deposited Tk10 lakh into the bank account of Priyanka Chatterjee, the wife of the late journalist Pulak Chatterjee. The payment was made three days after his passing, as confirmed by Suman Chowdhury, the current Barishal bureau chief of the newspaper.
