The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has submitted a proposal to increase bus fares. Under this plan, fares for intercity buses would rise by 20 paisa per kilometer, while city bus fares would increase by 18 paisa per kilometer. The proposal maintains the existing minimum fares of Tk10 for buses and Tk8 for minibuses.
