The Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI) has unveiled a new salt-tolerant rice variety named BRRI Rice119. This variety has a yield potential of 7.6 tonnes per hectare. With a maturity period of 115 days, the new variety is expected to enable farmers in coastal regions to cultivate an additional crop following the Aman harvest.
